whoisjoel.com launch

Hello everyone. This is the first official post of whoisjoel.com. As you can see above, this is going to be a video cast driven site, however I will be adding small blurbs about what I am talking about and links to the various resources in the discussion.

Whoisjoel.com is simply my voice into the design community. My hope is that we can create an environment to discuss, critique, and challenge each-other to grow as creative professionals. My main passion in design is corporate identity and branding, so these topics will most likely dominate the majority of my content. I am starting whoisjoel.com with a humble approach knowing that I am in no way the source of truth in branding. I am in the infancy of my career and am always learning as a design professional. That being said, I have also had the opportunity to expose myself to many different environments (internationally & locally) that have challenged me as a designer. As a result, I have observed many trends and principles that I feel are rudimentary in design, and I am excited to talk about them and begin a constructive dialogue with other inspired individuals.

I had the opportunity to do this collaboration vidcast with Aaron Irizarry as we launch whoisjoel.com and thisisaaronslife.com. Aaron has been a huge source of inspiration for me, and I was stoked when we started talking about doing a joint launch. Check out his site. Motivating articles and usefully resources.

I also would like to thank Garth Humbert , Kyle Steed , & Steve Espinosa for encouraging me to get this site up. Lastly, I would have never been able to finish this site if it wasn’t for Bryan & Jeff (the tech/code guys) from Lighthouse Marketing Group. Let me know what you guys think and stay connected.
