getAbstract Web Product & Interface Design
Introduction
Project Story
At getAbstract I was embedded in the product and design team working on the core web platform, a large-scale B2B and B2C product used by thousands of people and companies daily. My work touched a wide range of UX and UI challenges, from shaping new features to refining existing ones as the product continuously evolved. One of the more engaging projects was leading the design of gamification features, taking early-stage product thinking and turning it into clear, motivating experiences that felt native to the platform rather than bolted on. This required constant iteration between user behaviour, product goals and what actually makes sense visually and interactionally. I also led the redesign of several core interface elements: the summary page, navigation structures and information architecture. These are high-traffic, high-stakes parts of the product, so the work demanded both careful UX thinking and a strong eye for visual clarity. A significant part of my role was design system work. I expanded the system, introduced new patterns and made sure everything scaled consistently across a complex, multi-surface product. Working at this scale taught me that good component thinking is what enables speed without sacrificing quality, and that's a principle I now bring to every system I work on. Throughout all of it I worked closely with developers, product managers and fellow designers, navigating technical constraints, aligning on priorities and shipping work that balanced ambition with what's actually buildable in a live product environment.
